Hood Warfare 2 Game Modes, Maps & Weapons
Hood Warfare 2 has six game modes: five gang-versus-gang team modes and one free-for-all. You fight across four maps with a loadout you build yourself, and you unlock more guns and gear by leveling up your reputation. Every mode works online or against bots.
All six game modes
| Mode | Type | How you win |
|---|---|---|
| Turf War | Team | Hold territory around the map. Your gang earns points for the turf it controls, and you push the other gang off theirs. |
| GangBang | Team deathmatch | Two gangs go head to head. The gang with the most kills wins. |
| Chaos | Free-for-all | No teams and no gang loyalty. The player with the most kills wins. |
| Hit A Lick | Team, capture the bag | Take the bag from the enemy's hood and bring it back to yours, while guarding your own bag. |
| Destroy The Block | Team, bomb | One gang has the bomb and the other has to stop them. Plant or defuse to win. You get one life per round. |
| Chain Snatch | Team | Getting the kill is only half the job: grab the chain the enemy drops to score, and pick up your teammates' chains before the other gang does. |
Mode descriptions come from the official Steam store page.
How the modes compare to other shooters
If you've played Call of Duty, most modes will feel familiar. GangBang is Team Deathmatch, Chaos is Free-for-All, Hit A Lick works like Capture the Flag, Destroy The Block is Search and Destroy, and Chain Snatch plays like Kill Confirmed.
Which mode should you start with?
- GangBang or Chaos if you just want to learn the guns and maps. There's no objective to worry about.
- Turf War or Hit A Lick once you know the maps, since map knowledge matters more than aim there.
- Destroy The Block last. With one life per round, a mistake costs your team the round.
A warning from player reviews: spawn killing is the most common complaint at launch. In team modes, move away from your spawn quickly instead of waiting there.
Maps
The store page names four maps:
- Downtown
- The Suburbs
- The Trenches
- Chicago Mall
Each map mixes street fights with indoor areas, with different routes and positions to learn. We'll add map callouts and layouts as we cover them.
Weapons, attachments and loadouts
Before each match you set up a loadout with a weapon, perks and equipment. Weapon customization is a lot deeper than in the first game. You can swap:
- Sights
- Magazines
- Grips
- Suppressors
- Other attachments
Trapstar Games hasn't published a full weapon list or killstreak list yet. Player reviews mention snipers, pistols, claymores and drive-bys, but we'll only add a confirmed list once it's verified.
How unlocks work
| What you unlock | How |
|---|---|
| Weapons and equipment | Raise your reputation level by playing matches |
| Attachments | Complete weapon challenges for each gun |
| Weapon skins | Get kills with each gun |
Bot matches and single player
You don't have to play online. You can set up your own match against bots: pick the map, the mode and the match settings, then add bots to fill out the teams. It's the easiest way to learn a map without getting spawn-trapped by experienced players.
